PARENT AND ME LEVEL // ages 18 mos-2

  • fun introduction to dance

TODDLER LEVEL // ages 2-3

  • GENTLe ENCOURAGEment tO dance BY THEMSELVES

  • MEET OTHER DANCERS, LEARN TO TAKE TURNS, AND LISTEN TO INSTRUCTIONS THAT ARE DEVELOPMENTALLY APPROPRIATE

  • PARENTS SIT IN THE STUDIO AND OBSERVE, SO AS TO HELP THEIR DANCER FEEL CONFIDENT AND BRAVE

  • no previous dance experience necessary

PRESCHOOL LEVEL //ages 3-4

  • READY TO BE ON THE DANCE FLOOR, LISTEN TO INSTRUCTIONS, TAKE TURNS, AND HAVE A BLAST!

  • PARENTS ARE WELCOME TO OBSERVE FROM INSIDE THE CLASSROOM, OR IN THE LOBBY, DEPENDING ON THE INDEPENDENCE OF YOUR DANCER

  • no previous dance experience necessary

PETITE LEVEL //ages 4-5

  • comfortable with a classroom setting

  • introduces more discipline, technique and artistry than the preschool level

  • PARENTS ARE encouraged to wait IN THE LOBBY, so as to increase the independence of your dancer and help them truly focus on the dancing

  • no previous dance experience necessary, but having done the preschool level is a plus!

PRE LEVEL // ages 5-6

  • comfortable with a classroom setting

  • introduces more discipline, technique and artistry than the petite level

  • PARENTS ARE encouraged to wait IN THE LOBBY, so as to increase the independence of your dancer and help them truly focus on the dancing

  • no previous dance experience necessary, but having done the petite level is a plus!

  • these dancers are gearing up to enter our core dancer program

core dancer program // BALLET CLASS levels

Level 1 // designed for:

  • dancers with 0-1 year experience in ballet

  • dancers who are roughly ages 6-8*

  • dancers AGE 9 AND UNDER who are trying a style for the first time

Level 2 // designed for:

  • DANCERS WHO ARE DIRECTOR approved to move from level 1 to level 2

  • dancers with 1-2 years experience in ballet

  • dancers who are roughly ages 7-9*

Level 3 // designed for:

  • DANCERS WHO ARE DIRECTOR approved to move from level 2 to level 3

  • dancers with approximately 3 years experience in ballet

  • dancers who are roughly ages 9-11*

Level 4 // designed for:

  • DANCERS WHO ARE DIRECTOR approved to move from level 3 to level 4

  • dancers with approximately 4 years experience in ballet

  • dancers who are ready to challenge their technique, artistry, and commitment

  • dancers who are roughly ages 11+*

Level 5 + 6 // designed for:

  • DANCERS WHO ARE DIRECTOR approved to move from level 4 to 5

  • dancers with many years experience in ballet

  • dancers who are ready to challenge their technique, artistry, and commitment

  • dancers who are roughly ages 13+*

beginner/intermediate level // designed for:

  • dancers who are ages 10 and up who are trying a style for the first time or revisiting a style after a break

core dancer program // NON-BALLET CLASS levels

Level 1 // designed for:

  • dancers with 0-2 years experience in that style

  • dancers who are roughly ages 6 and up*

  • dancers AGE 9 AND UNDER who are trying a style for the first time

Level 2 // designed for:

  • DANCERS WHO ARE DIRECTOR approved to move from level 1 to level 2

  • dancers with 2-3 years experience in that style

  • dancers who are roughly ages 9 and up*

Level 3 // designed for:

  • DANCERS WHO ARE DIRECTOR approved to move from level 2 to level 3

  • dancers with approximately 4+ years experience in that style

  • dancers who are roughly ages 11 and up*

Level 4 // designed for:

  • DANCERS WHO ARE DIRECTOR approved to move from level 3 to level 4

  • dancers with multiple years of experience in that style

  • dancers who are ready to challenge their technique, artistry, and commitment

  • dancers who are roughly ages 12 and up*

beginner/intermediate level // designed for:

  • dancers who are ages 10 and up who are trying a style for the first time or revisiting a style after a break

*age brackets are flexible, but a good marker for most dancers. each level is designed to introduce different curriculum, and a dancer’s experience, technique, age, maturity, and attitude all factor into what makes them ready for each respective level! All level placement is at the discretion of dent dance center’s director.
